Forget Prometheus and any other movie that you think might possibly be the best thing you’ll see all year, because Wreck-It Ralph is now the new best thing you’ll see all year. Fact. This November, Walt Disney Pictures is bringing video gamers across the world the most personalised love letter imaginable.
Wreck-It Ralph is all about a bad guy in a video game, only he’s tired of being the bad guy and wants to be the hero, because everyone only remembers the hero. So Ralph leaves his game and joins the front lines in a new, first-person shooter video game that’s just arrived in the arcade. Things don’t go according to plan, and soon enough Ralph inadvertently releases an army of bad guys that begin to invade other video games.
The movie boasts a voice cast featuring John C. Reilly (Step Brothers, Gangs of New York), Jack McBrayer (Despicable Me, Talladega Nights), Jane Lynch (TV series Glee and Role Models) and Sarah Silverman (School of Rock and the more recent Muppets film). It’s being directed by Rich Moore, who has directed multiple episodes of The Simpsons, Futurama and Drawn Together. Hit the jump for the trailer; it’ll be the best thing you see all day.
