This is great news indeed. Last week a triple pack of thatgamecompany’s PlayStation Network hits was hinted at online. The indie developer has just made the whole thing official. Journey: Collector’s Edition will pack flOw, Flower and Journey, along with other goodies, onto one Blu-ray disc for a retail release.
The disc will also include a 30 minute documentary on the making of Journey. You’ll be given soundtracks for all three games as well as dynamic themes for your PlayStation 3. Concept art galleries, trailers, PSN avatars and reversible box art will also be included. They’re also throwing in a month’s free PlayStation+ membership. Perhaps the neatest inclusion, however, is playthroughs of each game with commentary by the team at thatgamecompany; those commentaries should be really interesting considering the passion this dev team has for the video game medium.
Finally, Journey: Collector’s Edition will ship with three mini-games, which thatgamecompany made during one of their 24 hour Game Jams. The games are meant to be “silly” distractions and are a definite departure from their more meaningful PSN titles. Hit the jump for (not final) box art.
