One of Ubisoft’s biggest announcements at E3 a month ago was surely the reveal of the PlayStation Vita exclusive Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation. Well, it would have been had it not been outed a day before the show started thanks to some magazine scans hitting the Internet.

A very brief trailer for the game was dangled in front of fans a few weeks back, but a lengthier one has just been released by Ubisoft. Quite a bit more is shown off, including some extended combat scenes, town portions and a scene of the new heroine traversing what looks like a cave network.

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation takes place during 1765, which is slap-bang in the middle of the period during which Assassin’s Creed III is set. You’ll play as the series’ first female assassin, Aveline, as she takes on the Spanish forces that are threatening Louisiana’s freedom. Trailer after the jump.
