While I’m not sure how that’s going to work out, considering that RIM’s network is highly controlled, its CEO, Thorsten Heins, has said that the company is ready and willing to license out its next-generation Blackberry OS to any other company who wants it. Its a bold move for the hardware manufacturer and would make it another one of the many companies that have turned their focus to software as a service, rather than lump it out by losing money producing the handsets/hardware on their own.
