AMD today announced the launch of a new quad-core, the FX-4130. Based on Bulldozer, the chip will work in all AM3 and AM3+ boards with the required BIOS update. The chip starts at 3.8GHz clock speed for all cores, boosting up to 3.9GHz in intensive apps. Being an FX chip, it also comes with an unlocked multiplier and a TDP set at 125W. The FX-4130 slots in between the FX-4100 and the FX-4170 with pricing set at $112. Local availability should be within a month or so.
