You know what’re great? Westerns. There’s a total lack of western games as far as I’m concerned. Ever since the mindsplosion that was Red Dead Redemption, I’ve been dying to take once again to the dusty roads of a decent western game. Looks like Ubisoft might be the publisher to fix that.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is heading back to the series’ roots, which is great considering 2011’s terrible Call of Juarez: The Cartel. In Gunslinger you play the role of a bounty hunter (always a good thing in video games) who’ll be able to target famous wild west legends like Butch Cassidy and Billy The Kid.

Unfortunately the game is pegged as one of Ubisoft’s digital offerings, meaning it’s only coming to PC digital download, PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade. Hopefully this doesn’t translate to “low budget flogging of a fairly popular IP”. There’s a live-action trailer after the jump; it features guns, wanted posters, saloons, whores and a good old fashioned hangin’ ya’ll.
