Here is the first look at some actual gameplay from upcoming RTS juggernaut Total War: Rome II. It shows various moments during the siege of Carthage, a level that developer Creative Assembly showed off to press during behind closed doors sessions at Gamescom just over a month ago. We saw what you can see in the trailer below, only it was running in real time. It does look rather gorgeous, doesn’t it?

The entire battle would take more than an hour to complete, as the city of Carthage forms a massive battleground. You can read more about what we saw of the game in the current October edition of NAG Magazine, which is on sale as of today! It’s like Sega and Creative Assembly knew.
