Stands @ rAge: Comptium, ComputersOnly, Archos

Getting back into the swing of things for my rAge coverage, we’re looking at another three stands today that will be selling their wares to sexy, sexy NAGlings such as yourself, dear reader. Comptium, ComputersOnly and Archos all have stands this year and aim to offer you something different. Check this out!

Comptium’s stand this year will be showcasing and also debuting the Asrock Z77 OC Formula. This is a rAge-only launch and the rest of the world will be following it! Its the first Z77 board Asrock has catered to overclockers and gamers, with a brilliant black-and-yellow colour scheme (balls, now I have that ridiculous rap song in my head) and equally spaced PCI-Express slots for triple Crossfire or SLI. The board was designed in conjunction by Overclocker Nick Shih, with modifications made to the power phase delivers as well as the actual PCI and RAM slots featuring 15μ gold-plated contacts. The entire design has been altered and carefully contructed to allow for the highest overclocks and I’m hoping that we’ll see some records broken with the board at the expo’s Overclocking event. Will this board usurp the Gigabyte Z77-UD3H for the title of Overclocker’s Choice? Time will tell.

Here’s a big-ass picture just to remind you why its a special board. Just look at the damn thing, its spectactular! Make sure you pop by the stand and ask “pretty please” if you can buy one.

With a long nine-year history at the expo, ComputersOnly will be back this year with a range of products on show. Being one of the go-to places for ASUS hardware, the online retailer will be selling a lot of stuff from ASUS boards to DVD drives, with the chance for you to play in the slot machine at the stand to win something. What is that something? Only this awesome gaming laptop:

Yes boys and girls, its the ASUS G75VW, a premium mobile gaming solution worth about R25,000. Second prize will be one of the company’s Radeon HD7970 graphics cards, likely the 3GB Direct CU II version with Turbo Core BIOS worth R6,000. If you grab something from the stand and then, by sheer chance you win one of these babies (and I will be deeply jealous of anyone does) then you can be sure that its money well spent!

Local tablet supplier Archos will be at rAge this year with a range of Android goodies and will be selling their popular G9 tablets at their stand at discounted prices. The G9 comes in 8″ and 10.1″ flavours with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, dual-core TI OMAP 1GHz processors, 1GB RAM and a built-in kickstand inside the chassis for easy media viewing. Definitely another one of the many tablet and e-Reader bargains to be found at the expo this year. But what if you want to give one to your kids so that they leave your Transformer or iPad alone?

Singing chipmunks not included. Sadly…

With a single-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, Android ICS 4.0, 1GB of RAM and a 7″ LCD display, its certainly going to give your kids something to keep them occupied while you find somewhere to quietly put them before you go off to search for the Assassin’s Creed 3 demo. The ArnovaChildpad will come with apps for educating your offspring and also offers a protected browsing mode, with parental controls to restrict their browsing ability and app availability based on age restrictions.  Archos also provides a bag for their Childpad and the tablet will make its first debut in the country at rAge expo this year. Make sure you stop by to see what Archos has to offer!
