Mega publisher Ubisoft is suing mega pop group The Black Eyed Peas for apparently not meeting their contractual obligations concerning the development of an iOS game.
Ubisoft has spent $233,000 on an iOS port of the Wii and Xbox 360 game, The Black Eyed Peas Experience, and now the group has neglected to submit its approval or disapproval of the game, which is sitting in limbo.
“Ubisoft has performed all of the obligations required of it under the contract, except as those obligations that have been excused by BEP Music’s conduct or by operation of law.”
The publisher is apparently waiting for the group to give the go ahead on whether development of the game may continue. As a result, it claims to be at least $1 million out of pocket, due to development costs and ongoing lost profits.
Ubisoft has declined to comment further on the matter.
