If you are able to cast your game-addled minds back to last year (tall order, I’ll admit) then you might remember reading a news segment in the February issue of NAG about Kentucky Route Zero. The indie game is being developed by Cardboard Computer and is described as a “magic realist adventure game about a secret highway in Kentucky and the mysterious folks who travel it.”

Back then, the game was supposed to be out by no later than the end of October 2011; clearly things happened to delay it by over a year. For a start, the project has undergone quite a drastic change in art direction, which is a little saddening considering how awesome it looked in the first trailer. That’s not to say that it now doesn’t look good (quite the contrary really), it’s just different.

You can see how different in the new trailer (after the jump). The game has now been announced for December this year, but that’ll only be the first episode out of a total of five. If you want to keep up to speed with the remainder of the development, then check out the official website. Also, how great is that music?
