So, there’s now a local version of the iTunes Store…

But before you Apple fans jump for joy, I’d like to warn you ahead of time that its only for the music part of Apple’s business. iTunes users can now buy full albums and singles from the iTunes store using their South African credit cards, as well as subscribe to Apple’s Match service which not only stores your bought songs in Apple’s iCloud, but also makes a copy of the music you’ve ripped from CDs as well if there’s a matching single on iTunes Store, distributing a list of these songs to all your devices running iOS 5 or Mac OS X or iTunes for Windows for downloading to separate devices either. iTunes Match is also available and has a yearly subscription of R199 for up to ten devices.
