Last week, BioWare released the rather sizable “Omega” DLC for Mass Effect 3. Did you play it? Was it awesome? Did you shudder at the realisation that it might have been the last chapter of DLC for the game? Wait, you did? Seriously? Fret not, because there’s more DLC inbound.
Thanks to a collection of forum posts and Tweets by various people involved in putting Mass Effect 3 together, it’s now a certainty that we’ll be getting another dose of downloadable content for your Commander Shepard.
This time around it’s BioWare Edmonton’s turn to develop DLC. “Omega” was developed by BioWare Montreal, which is the same development team currently working on Mass Effect 4 (which isn’t a working title).
BioWare designer Jos Hendricks confirmed that work on new DLC was underway when he wrote on the official BioWare forums: “It’s all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every Mass Effect 3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved.”
On top of Hendricks’s post, Mass Effect 3’s composer, Sam Hulick, Tweeted that he’s currently working on unannounced Mass Effect 3 DLC. He added that he’s “tossing in piano and muted strings for this one particular piece. High potential for tears.” More children blowing up in space ships, we guess?
Finally, it’s been confirmed that actor Seth Green has been back in the recording studio to reprise his role as Joker.
Exactly what this new DLC will entail is still up for debate, but you can bet we’ll be hearing more from EA and BioWare in the coming weeks.
