Assassin’s Creed III is a big game, with big ideas, big stats and big amounts of stuff to sidetrack you from the main storyline. There’s also a fair share of big bugs, and now there’s a new one that’s cropped up alongside the first piece of DLC; this bug is resetting people’s game progression and wiping player stats. Yikes.
The DLC in question is the “Hidden Secrets Pack”, which collects all of the pre-order incentive bonuses and bundles them into one download. Over on the Ubisoft forums, people are complaining that the DLC is resetting their game progress and stripping them of certain things like all of their in-game money.
Fortunately Ubisoft has managed to “reproduce this issue at the studio and are working on a fix/workaround.” In the meantime, however, they’ve discovered a workaround that’ll help you avoid the bug: “Do not load your saved AC3 game while the DLC is downloading in the background.” Seems rather simple, doesn’t it?
