Cast your minds back to November last year and you might recall reading about Silicon Knights being ordered to recall and destroy every game they’d ever made that was built on Unreal Engine 3. This was the result of some lengthy litigation between Silicon and Epic, and in a reversal of fate, it was plaintiff Silicon Knights who came out of court proceedings all battered and bruised.

The development team lost millions thanks to Xbox 360 exclusive Too Human. The game was also one of the casualties of the court ruling. Now, however, it seems as if the “recall and destroy” order extended to digital copies of their games: Too Human has been wiped from Xbox LIVE Games on Demand. In addition to the game being removed from Microsoft’s digital store, Gamer Pictures, Dashboard themes and trailers have also been axed.

Microsoft issued the following statement when pushed for clarification by Eurogamer: “Microsoft received a Recall Notice from Silicon Knights for Too Human, and we have removed the game from the Xbox Live Marketplace accordingly. We have no comment regarding, nor involvement with the case between Silicon Knights and Epic.” Honestly, after all of this, I’m amazed that Silicon Knights is still standing.
