Just the other day we wrote about how Nintendo had lost a legal complaint in an on-going effort to secure the rights to the WiiU.com domain name. Cybersquatting is nothing new when it comes to brands on the Internet, but in that story we noted that Sony doesn’t own PlayStation4.com and Microsoft doesn’t own XboxOne.com. That’s just changed.
Microsoft has won a case against a UK resident who had swiped ownership of XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net before the console was revealed. Thanks to legal action by the Richard Law Group on behalf of Microsoft, ownership of both domains has been granted to Microsoft.
Perhaps Nintendo should drop Microsoft’s lawyers an email and ask them for a hand at getting the WiiU.com domain?
