Cast your minds back to more than two years ago, and you’ll remember reading about how one of the original creators of the now lucrative Madden NFL series of games is suing EA. Co-creator of the series Robin Antonick filed a case against EA for unpaid royalties. He has argued that the ground work he did on the original 1988 game has been used in every Madden game to date. EA has just lost the first part of this court case, and as a result they’ll have to cough up $11 million in unpaid royalties for all Madden games released between 1990 and 1996. The next phase of the court case will decide whether or not EA owes Antonick for Madden games from 1997 to present day.
