This year, Infinity Ward is at the helm of the annualised Call of Duty release. As everybody knows, multiplayer is by far the most important aspect of any contemporary CoD title, and the upcoming instalment, Call of Duty: Ghosts is no exception. To that end, Infinity Ward recently put on a lavish press conference in downtown LA to introduce the gaming media to Ghosts multiplayer.
There are a number of additions to be excited about, and being able to call in everybody’s favourite CoD canine Riley as a kill streak perk, isn’t the only one. Further additions include full soldier customisation right down to skin colour. The best bit out of the new character customisation? Female soldiers will be playable for the first time in the history of Call of Duty multiplayer. “If I had a billboard chart of requests,” Activision president and CEO Eric Hirshberg said, “this [female soldiers] would be near the top of the charts of things we hear from our community. It’s certainly something I’ve wanted to do for a while. We have a lot of female players that want to play as female characters.”
There’s a neat three-minute trailer showing off the best bits of the new multiplayer mode; you can find that after the jump. Look out for the player-initiated destructible map elements; that’ll mix up the flow of maps rather nicely. Also be aware that there’s some NSFW language in the trailer thanks to the soundtrack being provided by the ever-palatable Eminem.
