Game of Thrones – I love it; you love it; everyone loves it. (What do you mean you don’t love it? Get off the Internet, sub-human scum.) Actor Charles Dance, who plays the oddly admirable and very often detestable Tywin Lannister in the HBO TV adaptation, has joined the voice cast of CD Projekt Red’s upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Dance will be taking on an equally powerful role as Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. Basically, he’s in charge of the realms that the game takes place in. At the end of The Witcher 2, the Southern Kingdoms invaded the Northern Kingdoms (where The Witcher 3 will be set), and that invasion was led by Emperor Emreis, the emperor of Nilfgaard. Yesterday’s “Killing Monsters” trailer is set in No Man’s Land, which is an area in the Northern Kingdoms that will feature prominently in the The Witcher 3. The soldiers attempting to hang the woman are all part of the Nilfgaard empire.
“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title,” Marcin Blacha, lead writer for The Witcher 3, said via a press release. “It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality.” Good fit for the voice of an ambitious emperor, don’t you think?
