Here’s your dilemma – Man Shooter VI is out next week, but you won’t be getting a PlayStation 4 until Xmas. Do you:

  1. Buy the PS3 version now and miss out on the eye-popping, mind-‘sploding next-gen version?
  2. Wait to buy the PS4 version and miss out on all that man shootin’ in the meantime?
  3. Buy the PS3 version now and upgrade to the PS4 later for cheap-cheap?

Please note that Man Shooter VI is not a real game, and not actually included in this special offer.

The obvious win-win option here is #3, and it’s an option you can actually choose with four (real) cross-generation games, including Call of Duty: Ghosts, WATCH_DOGS, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Battlefield 4.

Basically, people who buy the PS3 versions of the game will have a limited time to upgrade to the PS4 version of the game at “a significantly discounted price”. The exact price has not yet been confirmed, however.

“We see this as a great way to reward PS3 gamers for their loyalty when transitioning to PS4, ensuring that it is as simple and accessible as possible,” said Sony’s Andrew House.

The PS4 launches in November in the US and Europe, and locally in December.

[Update] According to CVG, the Call of Duty: Ghosts upgrade will be sold at £10/€10/$10. Whether or not this is something that will be available locally remains to be seen, although assuming it’s just a download code, there’s probably nothing stopping you from ordering it through an international retailer like Amazon.
