Tabloid thinks video game tech is the real thing

sarif industries oops

The ongoing tabloid preoccupation with people not being able to properly distinguish between games and reality has just levelled up, with this excerpt from UK backup-toilet paper The Sun citing US firm Sarif Industries as a leading developer in cybernetic implant technology. Seems legit if you’re the sort of person who reads The Sun, I suppose, but our readers will probably recognise both Sarif Industries and the image from Eidos Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Doing a Google image search for “cybernetic implants” turns up multiple images from the game – including the one printed in the paper – among the first results. I’m assuming that’s probably not a coincidence.
