The game is called The Order: 1886, so that headline is not implying we’re posting 1, 886 screenshots of some game called The Order. PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886 is looking intriguing. It’s got a great team working on it; developer Ready at Dawn has been responsible for a number of excellent PlayStation Portable titles like God of War: Chains of Olympus. Aside from porting two PSP God of War games to PlayStation 3, and being responsible for the Wii port of Okami, this will be Ready at Dawn’s first stab at a AAA release on a standard console.
Set in an alternate history London, The Order: 1886 sees a collection of knights battling to keep people safe from legions of monsters. With a playable character called Galahad, it seems as if Ready at Dawn is taking inspiration from writer Sir Thomas Malory’s King Arthur legends, Le Morte d’Arthur. Insofar as other influences are concerned, Ready at Dawn points to Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Incidentally, a number of Ready at Dawn’s staff members originally worked for Naughty Dog.
Very little is known about this game, but Game Informer has a set of exclusive screenshots to accompany their new cover reveal. You can find them in a gallery after the jump.
