You know about the Humble Bundle; how couldn’t you with epic Warner Brothers sale going on? For those gamers connecting to the Internet for the first time, it’s a weekly/bi-weekly collection of games with a pay-what-you-want model. The Humble Bundle’s success is anything but humble — to date, the initiative has pulled in more than $50 million, of which just over a third has gone to charity.
So I suppose it was only a matter of time before a store or something like it became a reality — but that it has, as announced on the Humble blog. The newly-launched Humble Store will offer a growing catalogue of games at what it says will be great prices, retaining the model whereby a portion of every sale goes to charities like Child’s Play and the Electronic Freedom Foundation.
But who cares about all that philanthropy, right? More importantly, they’re having a 24-hour sale on their debut titles that span a variety of genres:
you can get 50-75% off on Don’t Starve, Natural Selection II, Euro Truck Simulator 2, The Swapper, Prison Architect, Rogue Legacy, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Orcs Must Die! 2 and Gunpoint. Scratch that, it’s over. I’m sure there’ll be other great deals. You can access the new store here.
