Rockstar’s seminal Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during our spring time 2014. The announcement was made by Sony Computer Entertainment president and CEO Andrew House during the Sony press event. The company showed off an announcement trailer that utilises in-game footage captured on a PlayStation 4.

Shortly after the announcement, Rockstar provided some finer details via their Rockstar Newswire website. This new version of GTA V will feature “increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic and enhanced resolutions”. It’ll also include every content update to Grand Theft Auto Online so far. Those with GTA Online characters on either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will be able to port their character to a new platform should they want to upgrade to the newer version of the game. Finally, the PC version will come with an in-game video editor so you can share your finer moments of chaos.

You can take a look at the visual improvements via the announcement trailer after the jump.
