After developer id Software’s “return to the drawing board” in August 2013 added to the long wait for a new game in the Doom franchise, publisher Bethesda has released the first teaser trailer for the game. While the short clip reveals almost nothing about the game, who wouldn’t enjoy being teased by one of the most iconic, hellish, and frightening enemies in the history of the FPS genre, the Cyberdemon. Yeah, this guy. Hit the jump to see more.
It’s been 10 years since the release of Doom III and the new game, simply called Doom, is rumoured to be a reboot of sorts for the franchise. The game has endured an incredibly protracted and difficult development period, given that John Carmack was hinting at a new Doom game as far back as 2007, and not much has been revealed to the public throughout this time. Hopefully, with at least a beta confirmed for 2014, the game will be able to revive the legendary franchise.
Doom will be fully revealed at QuakeCon this year, which takes place from the 17th to the 20th of July.
