The developers behind combat-heavy games like Enslaved and Heavenly Sword have been enlisted by publisher Disney Interactive to lend a helping hand to Avalanche Software. Upcoming Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (which is often referred to as Disney Infinity 2.0) will feature a number of combat oriented characters from across Marvel’s comic book roster. With that in mind, Disney obviously felt that a team with more experience in developing third-person action titles was necessary to bolster the development of Infinity 2.0.

Disney Infinity executive producer John Vignocchi stated during a Giant Bomb PAX panel that Ninja Theory had been working on Infinity 2.0 since about February of this year. So far the team has been focusing on villain characters like Loki and Ronan the Accuser from The Guardians of the Galaxy.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will be out locally on 18 September 2014 on pretty much every platform known to mankind, including the Wii U.
