Xbox One nearing 10 million sold in to retailers

Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s corporate VP of marketing, strategy and business, just popped up on the official Xbox news website to provide some feedback on the sales figures of the Xbox One. Thanks to recent price adjustments, which see Xbox One bundle deals starting from $349, the console has seen a dramatic rise in uptake.

These price adjustments kicked off on 02 November and brought with them an increase in Xbox One sales by more than 300% from the previous week in the US. The release of Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection has also helped Microsoft push console figures. Prior to these limited specials, the cheapest Xbox One console you could buy was the Kinect-less $400 model.

Mehdi is reporting that Microsoft has now sold in close to 10 million Xbox Once consoles. That means that the company has essentially supplied retailers with 10 million units; it does not mean that the console has sold 10 million units to the public.
