Game Awards 2014: The Winners

Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards happened this Friday; the successor to the Spike Video Game Awards (rebranded last year as VGX), the new award ceremony is an independent endeavour by Keighley with an advisory board including Activision, EA, Valve and others.

With 16 official categories and five fan-voted ones, there was a lot of room for exciting competition. In amongst the traditional Game of the Year and Best Shooty Shoot are some rather funny additions (such as Best Remaster), and some serious ones like Games for Change (not to be confused with the Games for Change organisation), which aims to honour games dealing with serious socio-political issues and screensavers (Yes, I don’t think Mountain should have been nominated.)

Anyway, we’ve got the full list of winners in bold right here, because no-one cares about second place, am I right? Just kidding, we have the nominees as well. Or you can watch the three-hour extravaganza for yourself; all this after the jump.
