It may sound like a hoax, yet it’s 100% true: Yanis Varoufakis, the former economist for Valve from 2012 to 2013, is now leading a country’s economy.

Greece has been having serious problems with out-of-control debt in the wake of the global financial crisis. Varoufakis is seen by some as a more radical figure who is completely opposed to the various austerity solutions proposed by analysts.

Of course, the question we’re all asking is, “did he play games?” Well, no. Varoufakis’ priorities were focused on Valve’s internal economy and the transparent nature thereof. All of his thoughts were detailed on his blog which you can access here.

There’s inevitably going to be a slew of hat-related jokes, but people seem confident he can help the country recover. We shall see.
