Sorry, sorry, my mistake: Kollector’s Edition. Officially dubbed the Mortal Kombat X: Kollector’s Edition, this version of the game packs in with it a rather interesting take on Scorpion – the series’ most iconic fighter. The 26cm model has been designed by L.A. based sculpting company Course. Their work is quite distinct, and they’ve essentially given Scorpion a dose of their company’s trademark aesthetic. It works pretty well and you can see their design process in a video we’ve embedded after the jump.

The Kollector’s Edition will include the Scorpion model, a copy of the game in a Steelbook case, a copy of Mortal Kombat X: Blood Ties comic book volume one, and an in-game skin for Scorpion that’s identical to the redesign used for the model.

Local PR has confirmed that this edition will be available in South Africa when the game launches on 14 April, but we don’t have a price. Mortal Kombat X will be hitting PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This Kollector’s Edition will be available on all platforms but whether we get all platforms here is uncertain.

UPDATE: turns out there was some confusion on the local press release that was sent out. We’re NOT getting the rather fetching Coarse-designed Kollector’s Edition above. That makes us sad. Boo, sob, sniff, etc. We are, however, still getting a standard Kollector’s Edition, which includes a more traditional model of Scorpion. You can check it out below:

This Kollector’s Edition will be available in South Africa for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. No local pricing as yet, but this version is up for grabs on Amazon for $180 – so expect to pay around R2, 000.00 for it locally.
