Yesterday, news hit that Sony had “abandoned” their trademark for The Last Guardian, leading many to speculate that the long-in-development game was now finally dead. This, however, wasn’t the first time that Sony had abandoned the trademark; and by “abandoned” they mean Sony forgot to update their trademark claim. Since news of yesterday’s second abandonment, Sony has moved to reassure the ever-hopeful Last Guardian faithful that the game “is still in development”. They have also forwarded a petition to reclaim the expired trademark citing administrative errors leading to its expiration. Oops. Again.
