Call of Duty: Black Ops III announced

A new Call of Duty! Act surprised… please… even if it’s just for Treyarch’s sake… because they’re just lovely developers and we don’t want to hurt their feelings. Plus, you know, it’s another Black Ops, so that’s actually really great news considering the Black Ops sub-series is the most played Call of Duty variation ever. Can one use the word “variation” in a Call of Duty article? I’m kidding; moving on.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will, like last year’s excellent Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, be set in the future with high-tech toys and weapons rounding out your arsenal. The game world is described as a “dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead”. Sounds something like Deus Ex in that regard; perhaps we’ll have soldiers with implants as opposed to just high-tech Exo Suits?

Treyarch and Activision have also confirmed the return of Zombie Mode for Black Ops III, which gives the entire game three distinct game modes: single-player campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies. You can hit the jump for a brief teaser trailer; expect a full 26 April 2015.
