In the age of Nintendo’s relentless censorship, Conker’s Bad Fur Day was a refreshing breath of much-appreciated toilet humour on the N64. Now, the iconic squirrel with attitude is back thanks to the efforts of fans and Project Spark, the free game creation tool for the Xbox One and Windows 8.1.
Conker’s Big Reunion is the first in a series of episodic releases which will once again offer action-platforming with the same crude jokes we’ve come to expect and love. It’s retailing for $5 as DLC for Project Spark and offers around an hour’s worth of playtime.
In addition, Microsoft has given some members of the Project Spark community early access to assorted Conker assets, which they’ve already used to create ten small games. These generally re-imagine a tiny portion of the classic N64 game, such as the boss fight with the Great Mighty Poo. There’s also a multiplayer arena game where players can engage in a free-for-all deathmatch.
Players will also be able to purchase the Conker Mega Pack, which includes the Conker Creation Pack, Conker’s Big Reunion, and episode 1 of Champions Quest for a not-unreasonable $10.
