Giblets: AMD drops APU prices to begin stock clear-out

If you haven’t seen it yet, my overview of AMD’s Financial Analyst Day (FAD 2015) included the observation that AMD is now planning to incur losses as a result of clearing out old existing stock in the consumer channels to make way for their next-generation Zen processors and APUs due out in early 2016. They’ve begin this process with price drops for their APUs, trimming between $6 to $16 from the suggested prices of their APUs, making the A10-7850K a huge bargain at $127 for system builders in the US. Its unclear when we’ll see these same price drops, but hopefully well see some shift in the market in the next two months or so.
