This past weekend Orena hosted the CS: GO South African Finals for the ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup) at Jukes eSports Lounge in Centurion, Pretoria. The eight competing teams at the LAN finals went in guns blazing with only one goal in mind: to secure their spot to compete at the ESWC 2015 CS:GO Championships in Montreal, Canada in July.

The South African Qualifiers took place online during May, with 32 teams participating. The stakes were high as only one team would win the ultimate prize – an all expenses paid trip to Canada next month to play against 15 other teams from around the world.

“The South African CS:GO community is significantly growing and we want to give to these players a chance to qualify in order to participate at an international event. It’s always a pleasure to extend our qualifying steps in Africa to give an opportunity to this continent to be represented globally,” Sylvain Maillard, ESWC Tournaments Director.

After some intense games and a nail-biting final on Sunday afternoon, Bravado Gaming secured the win over Energy eSports, with Damage Control coming in third place. If you missed the live stream, you can watch some of the action on Orena’s Twitch channel here.
