Last year’s Sonic Boom titles aren’t much more than an unpleasant memory for most gamers and long-time fans of the series. It inspired many to think that it’s high-time for the furry blue mascot to retire, but clearly SEGA has other ideas.
A new Sonic Boom game titled Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will be gracing the Nintendo 3DS this summer. It kind of makes sense, considering the fact that the previous 3DS outing, Shattered Crystal, was slightly better received than its Wii U counterpart Rise of Lyric.
The new game’s cast will be joined by Amy Rose, who featured in the Wii U version. There will also be new fire- and ice-related elements, as is evident in the game’s title. Developers Sanzaru promise there’ll be a healthy mixture of more intense, speedy sections and slower-paced exploration to suit everybody’s taste.
