The King’s Quest reboot is out on 28 July. Well, the first episode is at least.
We’re getting a new stab at the King’s Quest series of adventure games. That’s glorious and sure to awaken long-lost memories of puzzle-solving from your childhood (or adulthood… if you’re SUPER old). During last year’s Gamescom it was revealed that Activision had re-established Sierra to be a sort of “indie” arm for the publisher. The first project, a reboot of the King’s Quest point-and-click adventure series, has been given a release date and pricing structure.
Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, King’s Quest’s first episode will be out on 28 July on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. It’ll hit Xbox 360 and Xbox One the following day, on 29 July. The first episode, entitled “A Knight to Remember”, can be purchased on its own for $10. Alternatively you can pick up the entire five-episode season for $39.99.
In this episodic reboot, King Graham is old and spends his time recounting the adventures from his youth to his granddaughter Gwendolyn. You can check out the latest trailer after the jump.
