Gamescom 2015: Xbox plans and details announced

Gamescom 2015

With E3 2015 behind us, it’s time to start looking forward to Gamescom 2015, the next big gaming event on our calendars. Xbox recently took to the Internet to announce dates, times, and what fans can expect from their presence at the conference. Hit the jump for more.

Arguably the most important event will be the Gamescom 2015 Xbox Briefing, essentially the “Part 2” to Xbox’s E3 2015 conference. They’ve confirmed presentations for Remedy’s Quantum Break, the new Crackdown, and PlatinumGames’ Scalebound. The conference also promises to share some “exciting announcements, and other unannounced games will be shown off too. The briefing will be broadcast on, and through the Xbox LIVE Events app. YouTube and Twitch streaming is likely, but unconfirmed.

The briefing will take place on August 4th, at 14h00 local time. That’s a Tuesday, in case your calendar isn’t handy.

Besides the briefing, the Xbox booth will also show off playable demos of Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, and more to be announced. So far, no streaming or live coverage has been announced, but there will likely be a flood of gameplay videos shortly afterwards.

All in all, it looks like Xbox will have some decent coverage at Gamescom 2015. Besides the notable absence of Sony, all the other big names in gaming will have some presence at the expo, including Nintendo, Bethesda Softworks, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix. Naturally, check back with NAG Online for all the coverage.
