There are a lot of rumors doing the rounds at the moment and one of them is that Nvidia is getting ready to prep another addition to the Maxwell family, the GTX 950 and GTX 950 Ti, into the 900-series lineup. the question is, though, what would this card be based on? While a lot of sites are speculating that it might be a GM206 GPU (found in the GTX 960) with lower frequency limits to artificially limit performance, I think its going to be a cut-down GM206 that will neatly bridge the gap between the GTX 750 Ti and the GTX 960 without possibly embarrassing the 960. My guess is that we’ll end up with a card that features a 6-pin power connector, 768 CUDA cores, 48 texture units and 24 ROPs along with 6.0GHz GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit-wide memory bus. I wonder if I should take bets on this… online gambling’s still illegal in this country, right?
