About 1:40 into this chunk of gameplay footage, our gravity/logic/tact defying Mexican hero Rico Rodriguez makes a gigantic dictator statue face-palm itself to death. As in, he uses some TOTALLY INEXPLICABLE BUT NONETHELESS AWESOME gadget that jerry-riggs a pulley system, causing the statue to whack itself in the face. Result: hilarity AND destruction. Now, I don’t know about you lot, but any game that marriages “hilarity” and “destruction” within the first two minutes of gameplay, is A-OK in my books.
This is the footage that was shown off to those who got to wander the hallowed halls of the LA Convention Centre Center (ugh, American English) during last month’s E3. Developer Avalanche Studios (which is also FURIOUSLY [see what I did there] developing another open-world destructo-thon , Mad Max) has decided to share this delectably ridiculous snippet of gameplay footage.
“At E3, we wanted to show our fans a sneak peek into the sheer volume of creative choices they will have access to in the game,” said Christofer Sundberg, co-founder and chief creative officer at Avalanche Studios, “Today, we’re excited to share the fun with the rest of our Just Cause fans around the world.”
