Electronic Arts has unveiled the various covers for upcoming soccer simulator and money-printer, FIFA 16. A number of different regions will be getting their own covers depicting local soccer players alongside the global cover star Lionel Messi.

The Australian, Canadian, and US covers of FIFA 16 all feature local soccer players from those countries. Those local players just happen to be women. The US cover will feature Alex Morgan, who recently helped the US win the FIFA Women’s World Cup in a final against Japan. Australia’s Stephanie Catley won by fan votes during a FIFA 16 Cover Vote campaign, and will be appearing on the Aussie version of FIFA 16. Then, Canada’s Christine Sinclair will appear on her country’s cover for the game.

The three women are now the first female soccer athletes to appear on a FIFA cover. This is also the first time that female teams will be playable in the game. A total of 12 national teams will be included in the game.

As for us in South Africa, we’ll get the vanilla global version of the cover, which will feature Lionel Messi on his ace. If you’re interested to see who else will appear in other regional covers of the game, then check out the source link below.
