Giblets: Project CARS for Wii U officially cancelled

Everyone holding out for the Wii U port of  Project CARS (yes, I’m talking to all three of you) might want to start looking elsewhere for their racing fix. Speaking with Nintendo Life, developers Slightly Mad Studios explained that the Wii U simply doesn’t have the horsepower for the game.

In the exact words of Slightly Mad Studios: “The official line is that we’re awaiting an announcement from Nintendo on new hardware. As of now pCARS is simply too much for the Wii U.”

The developers have been clear for a long time that a Wii U port was only ever a possibility, and now the stance is that they’re waiting to see what kind of upgrade Nintendo will release for the home console market. Given that the Big N has yet to shed light on its NX console, it’s likely that Project CARS won’t see a Nintendo release for some time.
