The Wii U launch title, ZombiU, is heading to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The first-person survival horror game was one of the stand-out titles from the early days of the Wii U, and its jump to other platforms is great news indeed.
The game will launch on 18 August, and will be distributed digitally; there are no plans for a physical release. The game will simply be called Zombi for obvious reasons.
With the jump to more powerful hardware platforms, the game has received a visual bump. It’s going to be interesting to see how the lack of a second screen will alter the gameplay; in the original Wii U version, the second screen in the Wii U GamePad was integral to the game experience and was also the source of a lot of the tension in the game’s claustrophobic environments. You can check out a trailer for Zombi after the jump.
This isn’t the first time that Ubisoft has released a game called Zombi. When the publisher started 29 years ago in 1986, their first game they ever released was a tile-based adventure game called Zombi.
