The last-gen console versions of Mortal Kombat X have been cancelled

You weren’t still holding out for this, were you? You were? Oh gosh, OK come in and sit down; we need to talk. Look, it’s not like Warner Bros. hates you or anything, but the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X? They’re not happening anymore, big guy. It’s ok to cry. Let it all out; this is a safe place.

In a post over on the publisher’s community section, an admin revealed that Warner Bros. has decided to pull the plug on the last-gen version of the game. Originally slated to come out in April this year (the PS4 and XBO versions released on 14 April) the last-gen versions got delayed. Then there were rumours of a second delay. And now, well, they’re dead, Jim.

“Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game,” the community post reads. “We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.”
