If you thought that Microsoft had cornered the market for “pro” controllers for the Xbox One after the reveal of their own stunning design, Razer wants you to think again. The company announced this week their new Xbox One controller, the Razer Wildcat. Razer has made “tournament-grade” controllers for the Xbox 360 for some time and they are pretty good. Not only does it look good, Razer says it’ll also do more than other controllers in the same segment. Hit the jump for more.
Razer says that the Wildcat is their best work to date and that they’ll be shipping it starting in October 2015 on both the Razerzone store and to select retailers worldwide. The price is typically steep for such a peripheral – $149.99 to be exact, which roughly translates into R2000. This is a similar price point to Microsoft’s Xbox One Elite controller, so Razer can expect some tough competition from Microsoft, but the Wildcat does look like a different beast.
“The Razer Wildcat for Xbox One is the third generation Razer Xbox controller and the result of years working with eSports athletes on many prototypes,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “The lightest tournament-grade controller in its class with additional remappable buttons gives gamers an incredible edge.”
