Bethesda has started trickling out recordings made during their E3 stage presentations. You might have seen the earlier feature on the “Glory Kills” that our lovable rogue Chris Kemp shared in his current “This Week in Gaming” piece.
This time Bethesda and a panel of id developers get to talk about the id Tech 6 engine that hums quietly under the brimstone-encrusted surfaces of the upcoming Doom’s hellish landscapes.
The engine is capable of spitting out hellspawns and demons, gibs and BFG explosions at 1080p and 60fps. According to id’s chief technology officer Robert Duffy, this was the main goal when it came to designing id Tech 6. Doom has always been about fast-paced FPS gore, and thanks to id Tech 6, it looks like the silky-smooth, fast-paced nature is taken care of. Check it out for yourself after the jump.
The new Doom is out sometime during the first half of 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
