Witcher 3’s first expansion, Heart of Stone, out on 13 October

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a person who has finished The Witcher 3, must be in want of more.” Somebody once wrote that. I forget who. Good news though: those of you who have somehow found the seven trillion hours required to finish The Witcher 3, can look forward to the first batch of DLC.

The first, 10 hours long piece of downloadable content is slated to release on 13 October. Heart of Stone, as it is called, will bring Geralt face-to-face with a ruthless bandit leader called Olgierd von Everec.

The DLC takes place in the areas surrounding Oxenfurt and Novigrad, and you’re character level should be around 30, according to CD Projekt RED community lead Marcin Momot. You can, however, tackle the content at any point in the main game’s storyline, so you don’t necessarily have to have finished the main plot.

Heart of Stone will bring with it new monsters, new characters, and a new romance. I’m guessing that the elf in the header image is Shani from the first Witcher game, and that she’ll be the subject of said romance. And by “romance” I really mean “a specific set of dialogue options that lead to boobs” because this is the Witcher series. Don’t get me wrong, I adore this series, but just wish it would handle aspects differently.

Anyway! Heart of Stone will set you back $10 through GOG.com. Alternatively you can pick up the Expansion Pass for $25, which will give you access to 2016’s larger DLC, Blood and Wine.
