On Saturday, during the StarCraft II World Championship Series Season 3 Finals, Blizzard took a moment to announce that the final chapter in the StarCraft II trilogy will be out on 10 November. Legacy of the Void follows the Protoss campaign as the race attempts to retake their home world from the Zerg swarm.
Legacy of the Void will bring with it a new campaign, new units, and a new co-operative game mode called Allied Commanders. The new multiplayer game mode puts players in control of commander units Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis as they ally to achieve specific co-operative objectives on each map. In case you missed it, there’s a trailer for the new game mode over here.
In addition to the announcement of a release date, Blizzard also showed off the opening cinematic for Legacy of the Void. It’s pretty spectacular, but by this stage the words “cinematic”, “Blizzard”, and “spectacular” are all pretty synonymous. You can check that out after the jump.
