Old-school gamers rejoice! One of the most influential games of all time has finally made it to the store. System Shock has long been one of GOG’s most requested titles, and this new Enhanced Edition brings with it a few modern refinements.

System Shock: Enhanced Edition packages both the enhanced version and the original sci-fi FPS classic in all its ’90s glory. It’s now got better mouselook, customisable key bindings, support for higher resolutions, and the expected bug fixes and tweaking. Being a GOG title, the game is 100% DRM-free. Check out the trailer below to see some of the improvements in action.

System Shock originally launched in 1994, but its innovative mechanics still permeate game design today. If you’re a fan of BioShock or Deus Ex, then you’ll definitely see the similarity. It’s also in the number three spot on GOG’s community wishlist, making it more requested than Diablo II and the Monkey Island franchise.  It currently has a launch discount of 20% (making it $7.99 instead of $9.99), and both System Shock games are available in a bundle if you want both.
