Nostalgia, friends. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. Activision is relying on nostalgia to persuade you to pick up a copy of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, because you sure as shit aren’t going to be picking it up for the gameplay experience.

Allow Eurogamer to demonstrate. They spent an hour (ONE hour… 60 minutes) with the PlayStation 4 version of the game AFTER it had been patched with a 7GB day-one fix. (Side note of hilarity: the patch is bigger than the entire game.) During that one hour they captured this incredible collection of glitches and total bug-outs. I’d say it’s funny but in actual fact it’s depressing as hell because the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series used to be so damn good.

Activision opted not to send out review copies before the game’s release, which was yesterday, 29 September 2015 in the USA. That should sound a bajillion alarm bells in your head.

The game will be out on 02 October for us here in South Africa.
