The new Doom’s multiplayer alpha goes live this weekend

It’s finally here.

Soon you’ll be free to channel your inner demon-slaughtering space marine with this weekend’s closed alpha of the new Doom‘s multiplayer. Those who bought Wolfenstein: The New Order before the 26th of May 2014 are eligible to be selected for inclusion in the event. If you’ve not yet registered – and you should, since time is running out fast – you may do so at the official Doom site.

There’s some wicked features planned, including a powerful new weapon called the Gauss Cannon and the ability to play as the skeletal Revenant, complete with jetpack and shoulder-mounted dual rocket launchers. There’ll be six weapons on show, including some old favourites that afford the perfect opportunity to rip and tear.

The event runs until this Sunday. The game proper is set for release in early 2016 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
